Jacob’s Shawarma

Mami bought two Jacob’s Shawarma vouchers last October. We finally had the chance to eat there this January.

Jacob's Shawarma
Jacob’s Shawarma is located at the Ground Floor of AIC Gold Bldg in Ortigas Center. It’s also the same building where my Kumon center is. I don’t eat shawarma but I was curious to taste Turkish rice so we gave Jacob’s Shawarma a try.

Jacob's Shawarma
Mami ordered Beef Kebab with Kuskus (Couscous). It looks like rice but it’s actually pasta and made of semolina flour. It tastes like rice, too. Jacob’s Shawarma served it some kind of tomato salsa. (I did not eat it because I don’t eat tomatoes.)

Beef Kebab and Kuskus
I had Beef Kebab too but with Turkish Rice. It did not look different from the plain rice we eat at home but it is mixed with vermicelli noodles. I was relieved because I eat sotanghon (vermicelli) but I still gave my tomatoes to Mami. I also did not use the yogurt dip that came with it. I just ate it as it is and I needed salt but did not find any.

Beef Kebab and Tukish Rice
If you don’t like Beef Kebab, you can have Kuskus or Turkish Rice with Chicken Kebab or Meatballs. It normally costs Php 230 but our voucher only cost us Php 130 each. We also ordered Minute Maid and C2 which cost Php 45 each.

Shawarma is the specialty of this place. But if you want to eat here, take note of the following schedule for shawarma filling: Chicken Shawarma (Php 120) every Monday and Thursday, Beef and Lamb Shawarma (Php 200) every Tuesday and Saturday, and Fish Shawarma (Php 160) every Wednesday and Friday. The store is open 24 hours.
