Top 5 Rainy Day Filipino Food Favorites

rainy day Filipino food list

Whenever it rains, I have this craving for rainy day Filipino food that reminds me of my childhood in the flooded streets of Manila. There’s always something to look forward to after wading through dirty waters that can chase away the cold, and hopefully, the germs. I remember my father or my aunt cooking delicious Pinoy food that would tempt me with their scent, texture, and taste. The warm bowls are a welcome sight on our table and my siblings and I would heartily devour to the last spoonful.

Rainy Day Filipino Food to Warm Your Hearts

I try to recreate Filipino food that comforts the tummy and the heart during rainy days. To give you an idea, I grouped foods according to their major ingredients and their variants.

#TasteCavite in Island Cove’s special “Taste Cavite” menu

Living in Rizal for almost a decade now, we seldom visit Cavite, let alone, go on a food trip in the province. So when Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park in Kawit invited me to try their new menu, I was ecstatic to  give it a go! I am not really familiar with the specialties of the province but I was sure that it would not only taste good but colored with the Cavite’s rich heritage.  And this is precisely what Island Cove’s “Taste Cavite” menu would like to showcase to its patrons. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting November 18 and daily starting December 22, 2016, this special menu will be available at the hotel’s Fishing Village.

Authentic Singaporean food at My Singapore Food Street

When I first visited Singapore in 2004, I wasn’t really able to enjoy going around the city and dine in the famous hawker centers. I was just there for a night, a quick side trip that I made before going back to Manila from a business trip. So there’s still this craving for authentic Singaporean food inside me that’s still waiting to be filled.

My Singapore Food Street

Located at the 2nd level Bridgeway of SM Megamall, My Singapore Food Street, is the newest restaurant in town offering its customers a taste of authentic Singaporean food. The restaurant is a partnership of business entrepreneur Jean Henri Lhuillier and Asian TV personality/celebrity chef Vivien Tan.

Chill and grill with Dowell Grill Express

Our family loves eating grilled food. I prefer grilled over fried but sometimes, grilling can be a hassle. I hate being the one to fire up the grill because that could mean frantically fanning the charcoal and inhaling all the smoke. I bet you don’t like that either. Fortunately,  we can still have an enjoyable barbecue with the family minus the stress with the new Dowell Grill Express.
