J.Co SM East Ortigas Now Open

J.Co recently launched it’s newest branch at SM East Ortigas and we couldn’t be more happier. Finally, our favorite “not-too-sweet” donuts are closer to home! The J.Co SM East Ortigas branch is their 44th concept store and I just love its simplistic urban interior. I can just imagine spending quiet afternoons here with a good book, an Alcapone, and a hot steaming mug of JCoccino.

Coinciding with the opening of the new branch is the launch of the J.Coffee Affogato Series. Traditionally taken as a mildly cold beverage or eaten as an “espresso soup,” the J.Coffee experts of J.Co have innovatively created three different cold variants that will surely be a hit in this summer heat.

Iced Cafe Avocado Affogato

The rich and creamy flavors in the Avocado Affogato blend just as well as they r...

Sasa Asian Cuisine gives a new take on Asian flavors

Care to taste something new? Sasa Asian Cuisine, located at Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons, gives a fresh take on Asian fusion cuisine that will be surely loved by Pinoys. Our favorite dishes from Japan, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia are made even better with a Pinoy twist, thanks to the genius that is Chef Raymar Reyes and his team.

We started our Asian fusion experience with the Fried Yasai Itame made of stir-fried vegetables placed in between layers of fried lumpia wrappers and drizzled with Japanese mayo.

We were then served with a big platter of Black Pepper Prawns. Don’t be fooled by its name because the dish is not spicy at all, even kids can eat this.

Om Indian Kitchen at The Grove by Rockwell

When my husband was still working in Ortigas, my boy and I would usually wait for him to leave the office so we could have dinner on our way home. The Grove by Rockwell is along our route and, back then, Sunrise Buckets was the only resto that we found appealing. I’m just glad that there are now so many dining options at The Grove and Om Indian Kitchen is the latest we’ve tried.

From what I gathered, Om Indian Kitchen is owned by the family of Magic 89.9 Radio Jock, Sam YG. Actually, his mom was busy in the kitchen while we were there. I knew it was her because there were also newspaper and magazine clippings displayed on the walls of the place. There were 2 Indian nationals dining then and I guess she was making sure that the food that was served was as authentic as it can get...
