Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar, Capitol Commons

The Pasig Kapitolyo area has started to gain popularity for having quite a number of must-try restaurants and hole-in-the-wall foodie havens. Honestly, I’m already living in the East side of Manila and just in the town next to Pasig but I haven’t even scratched the surface, so to speak. Last week, I found the time to visit Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar in Capitol Commons, Pasig, and boy I’m glad I did!

It was lunchtime when I arrived and the place was already starting to get crowded with yuppies taking their lunch break. Capitol Commons’ close proximity to the offices along Shaw Boulevard and the Ortigas Business District explains this.

Sophia’s Villa Seafood Dampa Palutuan

When we say “Dampa,” what comes to mind are the seafood restaurants in Baclaran where customers can buy fresh seafood at the wet market and have the restaurants cook it for a fee. To date, there are a number of Dampa-style restaurants in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. The latest we have discovered is Sophia’s Villa in Pasig City.

We came to discover Sophia’s Villa back in December last year since this is where my department held its Christmas get together. I was impressed with the food and most especially how inexpensive the meals were even with the cooking fee. So I promised Mami and Rap that we’d come back.
