Tulip Chocolate and Crisco Baking Demos with Chef Joey Prats

For the whole month of July, Chef Joey Prats shares his expertise in baking desserts and pies in a series of baking demos using Tulip Chocolate and Crisco baking ingredients. I was invited to witness the first baking demo that was held last July 5, 2011 at Living Well, The Podium.

Here are the treats Chef Joey baked and taught us during the 3-hour baking demo. That day, the desserts that were baked used Tulip Chocolate.

There’s going to be a repeat of this demo on July 19 at Gourdo’s World Market in Alabang Town Center. Meanwhile, another baking demo featuring Perfect Pies using Crisco ingredients will be held on July 13 at Living Well and July 27 at Gourdo’s World Market.

The baking demos are open to the public. Participation fee is at Php 1,500 inclusive of the following:

  1. Tulip Demo – One 1kg Tulip dark chocolate compound, one can of Crisco shortening, one 500g pack of Chef Joey Prats’ Ultramoist Chocolate Cake Mix, and one Living Well/Gourdo’s non-woven bag.
  2. Crisco Demo – One bottle of Crisco Canola Oil, one can of Crisco shortening, one 500g pack of Chef Joey Prats’ Ultramoist Chocolate Cake Mix, and one Living Well.Gourdo’s non-woven bag.

Certificates of Attendance will be given to attendees. The best part of it all is that they also get to try and taste the output of the demo. For more details, you can check out Gourdos.com.
