Mushroomburger Katipunan

We heard mass at St. Pio Chapel in Libis, Quezon City last Sunday. We made plans to catch a movie in Cubao that afternoon where he intended to have late lunch. However, instead of going straight to Cubao from C-5, we made a left turn to Katipunan Avenue and ate at Mushroomburger Katipunan instead!

Dadi isn’t a stranger to the menu of Mushroomburger as the branch in Tagaytay was near his former workplace. Meanwhile, Rap and I only got to eat in the Tagaytay branch once and this is our second time.

The Katipunan Avenue branch is quite different from Mushroomburger Tagaytay. This branch, which faces Ateneo de Manila University, has a more fastfood ambience to suit the needs of its student customers.  They also made it more student-friendly by propping chairs and tables with power outlets for plugging in laptops. In fact, when we were there, there were students from UP and Ateneo having a group study. We sat in one of those comfy carseats facing our parked SUV. Good thing there was an available parking slot right in front.

Rap had rice as usual. He’s not really into burgers but he’d devour a burger steak in an instant. The burger patty used in this meal is the same mushroom + beef burger patty Mushroomburger uses in their burgers. Included in the meal is a mixed mushroom siding, a boiled egg, mushroom gravy, drink (soda or juice), plus unlimited rice.

Dadi and I both chose to have Mushroomburgers. His meal, however, was the spaghetti and regular Mushroomburger combo that came with a drink. Mine was the Mushroomburger King combo which had two layers of mushroom+beef burger patties and cheese. (It was already 2PM so forgive this hungry lady!) The Mushroomburger King combo came with fries (which we upsized for Php 15) and drink.

I know it’s not what I ordered, but I totally loved the spaghetti that came with Dadi’s burger! LOL! It’s made of pure beef spaghetti sauce with a sweetness that’s just right for the Pinoy palate.

We also ordered Lomi so we could have soup. Indeed, Mushroomburger’s Lomi was chunky and hot that it immediately comforted our hungry tummies. The serving is quite big so it’s ok for sharing. It had mushrooms, too!
